This Sunday the sixth edition of the Volta al Penyal d'Ifac took place in Calpe with more than 750 swimmers from all over Spain and abroad.
Carlos Cuesta in the men's category and Andrea Smycek in the women's category were the absolute winners of a race in which the participants had to cover a distance of 3,600 metres between Cala del Racó and Playa de la Fossa on the border with the Penyal.
The mayor of the city, Ana Sala, thanked all those who took part in the competition, as well as the organisers and sponsors, because "together we make this test a world reference in this category. There are many competitions, but nobody borders on a Penyal like Ifac's," she added.
This year's event was attended by 750 participants, exceeding last year's 550, with the aim of reaching 1,000 participants in the next edition of 2020.
