The City Council of Calpe, together with the XarxaSalut network of the Generalitat Valenciana, has organised a cycle of training sessions to promote health in the community.
These courses are aimed at staff from various departments of the Valencian City Council, such as town planning, local police, social services, education, youth, social welfare..., so that they can coordinate all the services available in the field of health and make the care and services provided to citizens more efficient.
The city also intends to integrate health promotion and healthy habits into all actions, measures and projects promoted by the city council.
These courses are also attended by representatives of other social institutions such as the Red Cross of Calpe, the Caritas Community of Calpe, the Association Against Cancer or the Association of Women for Equal Rights.
One of the objectives is that, at the end of the training period, a map of the health resources available in Calpe could be drawn up, as well as a needs assessment to identify the areas or fields where health promotion efforts should be made.
These 4 courses will be held in October and November and will last 20 hours. They have been made possible by a grant of €2,500 from the Conselleria de Sanitat to the city of Calpe.
This educational measure is part of the IV Valencia Health Plan, promoted by the Generalitat Valencia and joined by the Calpe City Council in May 2018.
This IV Health Plan aims to create a common framework for action with examples of good practice and scientific knowledge to facilitate the development of the health perspective in all policy areas at local level.
