Calp City Council has reduced the electricity bill by 45,587.29 euros from 1 January to 4 May 2020. This represents a 13.77 percent decrease in expenditure compared to the same period last year.

This saving is due to the reduction in energy consumption resulting from the closure of municipal facilities due to space constraints, as well as the implementation of an energy saving plan that provides for the reduction of public lighting in some areas of the municipality.

This was the case with the "Princesa de Asturias" ecological footpath, which was closed during this period, which was prohibited, and with the Rumanía and Generalitat promenades and avenues, where lighting was reduced by a third.

The staff of the General Services of the City Council have evaluated the areas of the city where this savings system could be implemented, considering that the reduction in lighting will affect citizens as little as possible.
