The president of the Rotary Calpe Ifach Club, Miguel de Lamo, met with the mayor this morning to take stock of the recent actions of the Rotary Club in Calp.
Miguel de Lamo reported that since last May, the Rotary Calpe Ifach Club has given a total of €24,000 in food vouchers to Caritas and the Red Cross, and expressed the organization's willingness to continue these donations, which allow families at risk of social exclusion to buy fresh food.
In addition, the local Rotary Club has delivered 350 school supplies and materials to the local community, the Red Cross and Caritas for distribution to school children in Calp who may need them.
The president of the Rotary Calpe Ifach Club has also announced that next Friday, 18 September, the Liisa Haubensak Award, worth €2,000 and a diploma, will be presented to Dolores Martínez Rodríguez, who received the highest grade in the general phase of the PAU 2020 (university access).
The Rotary Calpe Ifach Club's next actions include the purchase of table protectors for Cáritas, the Red Cross and the Association Against Cancer, as well as digital blackboards for the Maite Boronat vocational centre.
