From tomorrow, 18 September, the period for applying for two of the aid measures provided for in the Plan Resiste, which are intended to reduce the losses of trade and businesses caused by the COVID-19 crisis, will begin. These are the subsidy for the waste charge and the aid for entrepreneurs and companies in general that have been operating for less than three years.
On the one hand, local businesses can apply for a grant of 30 percent of the amount of the waste charge, which will be a maximum of €2,000 in the first half of 2020.
This grant is aimed at tradesmen or businessmen who were carrying out a commercial activity in Calp on 1 January 2020 or who started it between 1 January and 13 March 2020. In addition, in order to qualify for this aid, they must have business premises in Calp and have ceased their business activities as a result of the measures provided for in the Royal Decree declaring a state of emergency or its successive prolongation or the Royal Decree regulating short-time working.
In addition, the waste tax corresponding to the first half of 2020 must have been paid and the waste must belong to one of the following categories commercial, special buildings, entertainment, industry, leisure and hospitality, office and health and social services.
The Calp Town Council has allocated a total of €178,000 for this assistance.
On the other hand, women entrepreneurs in Calp and companies that have been operating for less than three years can also apply for a grant aimed at these groups.
In this way, both the running costs (rent of premises, costs of advice and assistance caused by the alarm situation, electricity, water, telephone, etc.) and the capital costs (loan repayment costs for the purchase of premises and commercial vehicles) will be subsidised.
Grants will be awarded for 100% of the total eligible items eligible and duly paid, excluding indirect taxes, up to a maximum amount of EUR 600 per application.
To be eligible for this aid, these self-employed persons, micro or small enterprises must be active in the Calp area and must be registered with the relevant special scheme for self-employed persons or with the mutual society or with the general social security and tax regime from 14 March 2020. They must also have suspended their activity as a result of the declaration of the state of alert or, if they have maintained it, have reduced their turnover for the month of April 2020 by at least 50% compared with the turnover for the six months preceding the declaration of the state of alert.
Calp City Council will provide a grant of 83,847 euros for this aid, which has been granted by the Provincial Council to minimise the economic impact of the pandemic on SMEs, micro-enterprises and the self-employed.
Both the grant for the rubbish charge and the aid for entrepreneurs can be applied for until 8 October. Applications must be submitted to the electronic register of the town of Calp, using the form available on the town of Calp's website - www.calp.es
