The Diputación de Alicante (Provincial Council), through the Provincial Investment and Financing Plan (Planifica), will finance the works for the urbanisation of section 6 of Vial J in the municipality of Calp, an infrastructure that has a tender budget of 1.7 million euros, of which the municipality will provide 430,900 euros, 35% of the estimated amount, and the City Council 1,277,000 euros, 65%.

The area where the intervention will take place was visited today by the Mayor, Ana Sala, and the Councillor for Infrastructure, Javier Gutierrez, who said that "this road is one of the most important works that will be carried out in this term in Marina Alta, a region that will receive more than 15 million euros through Planifica".

According to Gutiérrez, "in the next two years a new infrastructure of the utmost importance will be implemented, as this section will not only contribute to the urban growth of Calp, but will also significantly improve access to the city with a new alternative communication between the beaches and the national road". The councillor stated that this investment "will be vital for one of the most important tourist resorts on the Costa Blanca".

For her part, Ana Sala confirmed that the drafting of the project for section 6 of Vial J has been completed and that the procedures for the tendering process will now begin. The mayor has pointed out that this is the "project par excellence of this legislature at the urban planning level", a section that is "very important for the development of the municipality, as it will help to relieve traffic in the town centre". The first mayor also advanced that with the help of 280,000 euros allocated by the council to the municipality through the Mas Cerca Plan, there are plans to develop a children's theme park in La Vallesa.

Section 6 of Calp's Vial J will connect Casa Nova Avenue with Rumanía Avenue. It is 630 metres long and will allow for vehicular and pedestrian access as well as the installation of development services such as natural gas or underground cabling. The new section will have 3-metre wide pavements with trees and two lanes for each direction of traffic, separated by an internal central reservation with bushes. The proposed solutions also meet the requirements of integration into the surroundings with surfaces that match the adjacent areas.

During the visit to the municipality of Calp, the Head of Infrastructure noted the investment efforts being made by the Diputación de Alicante to help municipalities both through infrastructure and in other areas. "In this situation of the pandemic, public administrations must be on the side of the citizens to provide direct assistance to those who need it most, including small businesses and the self-employed, the hospitality industry or through social welfare for other social groups," he said.
