The Town Hall will provisionally adapt the site of the future Gargasindi Special Education School as a public car park in order to alleviate the lack of parking in the school area. This decision has been taken after realising that work on the school will not begin during the 2023-2024 school year and is a provisional measure as the local government's priority is to start work on the school.
On the municipal site located in Ausias March Street, in the middle of the school zone, and which previously housed the old Gargasindi school and the Virgen de las Nieves nursery school, levelling and clearing works will be carried out, as well as earthworks and works to adapt the plot for use as a public car park.
This action has considered the need to stop vehicles at peak times of the neighbouring schools: CEIP Azorín, CEIP Gabriel Miró and IES Ifach. The parking difficulties in the school area have worsened in recent months due to the fact that a privately owned plot of land which until now had been used as a public car park has been closed due to the start of works on the site.
A minor contract has been drawn up to carry out the works and it is expected that the works will be completed by the end of November.
