The contract for the regulated on-street parking service in Calpe ends today, Monday 30th December, so that from tomorrow onwards parking will be free in the municipality. Calpe Town Council plans to launch a new tender for the concession shortly, once the modification of the municipal ordinance that regulates this service, the Municipal Traffic Ordinance with time-limited parking regulation, has been definitively approved. This point will be taken to the plenary session to be held on 7 January, as allegations have been presented in this regard.
The modification of the ordinance has a double objective: on the one hand, to adapt it to the current road safety regulations and, on the other, to introduce changes in the distribution and timing of the areas set aside for regulated parking in order to increase the rotation of vehicles in the summer season and to better meet the needs of residents.
The Town Hall reminds residents that there are various car parks available to them, such as the Pla Senieta car park with 215 spaces, located on Avenida del País Valencià next to the Domingo Crespo pavilion, as well as the one next to the Azorín and Gabriel Miró schools.
