Aguas de Calpe has put the Corralets reservoir back into service after completing the comprehensive refurbishment of this infrastructure, which is key to the municipality's supply system as it is the main drinking water reservoir supplying the town centre.

The project, which took three months to complete, involved an investment of more than €579,000. The reservoir has a capacity of 10,000 m³ (equivalent to 10 million litres), a diameter of 44 metres and a height of 6.9 metres.

The work included waterproofing and renovating the roof, refurbishing the interior and exterior of the infrastructure, and making hydraulic improvements. The latter included replacing the fibre cement pipes with stainless steel pipes and installing new valves to improve the system's manoeuvrability.

Prior to the execution of the works, Aguas de Calpe used the digital twin of the supply network to simulate and predict possible effects resulting from the temporary disconnection of the reservoir. Thanks to this tool, the company was able to guarantee continuity of supply and maintain a hydraulic performance of 91.5%, one of the highest in the province.

With this intervention, the Corralets reservoir is fully reincorporated into the network and reinforces the efficient management of water in the municipality.
