A total of 95 female applicants have benefited from the aid line, which is aimed at businesses run by women and businesses under three years of age affected by the COVID-19 crisis, which the city council launched a few months ago with a grant from the provincial council.

The aid granted amounts to €52 869.44 and covers both recurring costs (rental of premises, costs of advice and assistance following the alarm, electricity, water, telephone, etc.) and capital costs (repayment of loans for the purchase of premises and commercial vehicles). Grants will be awarded for 100% of the total eligible items, which are justified and properly paid, excluding indirect taxes, up to a maximum of €600 per application.

To qualify for the aid, self-employed persons, micro and small enterprises must be active in the Calp area and must be registered with the relevant special scheme for self-employed persons or mutual society or with the general social security and tax scheme from 14 March 2020. In addition, they must have suspended their activity following the declaration of the state of alert or, if they have maintained it, have reduced their turnover for the month of April 2020 by at least 50% in relation to the turnover of the six months preceding the declaration of the state of alert.

This aid line is subsidised by the Provincial Council in order to minimise the economic impact of the pandemic on SMEs, micro-SMEs and the self-employed. This is the third line of assistance from Calp Town Council, after direct aid to local businesses and subsidies for waste collection, and is part of the resistance plan to boost economic activity in the municipality.
