Aguas de Calpe has completed the rehabilitation works on the sewage pumping station in Avenida del Port. The cost of the works amounts to €80,754.55. This measure completes the rehabilitation of the sewage network of the access area to the fishing port.
The rehabilitation works consisted of adapting the connections of the four inlet collectors to the pumping station by building a new pumping chamber. The difficulty of the work was that it was carried out in the same location as the existing installation, maintaining the sewerage system and with excavation depths of more than three metres.
The works involved relocating the four inlet headers to the pumping station and diverting them using a Godwin pump to maintain the sewerage in the area while the works were carried out.
In addition to the subsequent dismantling and removal of the existing electromechanical equipment, demolition of the existing pump shaft and ceiling and construction of the new pump shaft and shed with identical dimensions to the original.
