Yesterday, work began on the redesign of the pavements in Corbeta Street. This involves repairing the sections of the pavement that have been damaged by the roots of the trees.
For this purpose, the granite pieces are removed from the pavements by hand to be reused and the existing concrete is demolished to be compacted again. The work involves repairing the tree basins, removing by hand the rectangular pieces that make up the tree basins, demolishing the concrete paving, excavating and widening the space around the trees by 20 centimetres and then creating a protection against rainwater by placing the tiles vertically.
The work aims to remedy the shortcomings of the pavements by improving their safety for pedestrians. This project was awarded to the company Asfaltos y Construcciones Aitana for 31,447 euros and has a three-month implementation period.
