On Saturday 14 March, Calp will host the first gastronomic day of the mantis prawn and white shrimp, organised by Creama Calp, Peix de Calp, the Fisherman's Guild, the Mare de Déu del Carme festivities committee and the Calp municipality.
The day begins at 12 noon and remains open until 8 pm in the Plaza de España.
Participants will be able to try, at reduced prices, mantis prawns and white shrimps, as well as various dishes prepared with these products.
To liven up the day from 1pm, there are inflatable castles for the little ones and live music at 3.30pm with the group "La Gran Babylon" and at 6pm with the group "Astrolabios".
The aim of this day is to introduce the mantis prawns and white shrimp and some of the typical dishes prepared with these products, such as the mantis prawn with tender garlic, the mantis prawn llauna or the mantis prawn risotto.
Francisco Avargues, the City Councillor for Economic Development, Tourism and Trade, said that "with this day, we want to make known these products and the mantis prawn and the white shrimp, which are still unknown to many people.
