The plenary session of Calp Town Council has definitively approved the bases for the aid for the transport of pupils studying outside the municipality for the 2019 / 2020 academic year.

As a novelty this year, the student transport aid will benefit not only students from public and subsidised schools, but also from public schools. This is a demand that one parent made during the public hearing period against these rules and which was finally accepted.

Specifically, they are aimed at pupils and students in the first and second years of secondary education (all modalities), intermediate and higher vocational training, professional artistic training, higher artistic education, higher education for bachelor, master and doctoral degrees and distance education, UNED and Online (all modalities), in official public centres, subsidised private centres and official private centres.

To be eligible for the aid, beneficiaries must have been registered in Calp for at least one year, have fulfilled their tax obligations to the Town Hall, the Tax Office and the Social Security, and have completed at least 50% of the subjects enrolled, provided that the total number of subjects enrolled for the academic year in question is not less than three.

The amount of the grants received is increased by 10% if one is a member of a large family, a single-parent family, a person with a disability or members of the cohabitation unit with a disability and recognises a degree of disability of 33% or more, is a victim of gender-based violence, has an unemployed father or mother (if the student is not emancipated) and 20% if both parents are unemployed.

This year, the total amount of the allowance is 74,875.00 euros.

Aid for books

On the other hand, the grants to cover the costs of textbooks and teaching materials for the pupils of the IES Ifac in Calp, as no applications were received, were definitely approved after the end of the public exposure period. This aid is aimed at students in the first and second years of Bachillerato (grammar school) (all forms), intermediate and higher vocational training at IES Ifac in Calp.

To apply for this aid, the same conditions must be met as for the transport of pupils. And in the same way, they are increased in the same percentages because they are in one of these fixed situations.
