Calp, through a local police officer and in collaboration with the IES Ifac, has set up the "Tutor-Agent" program to help students in case of absence or behavioural problems. The aim is to help pupils to solve problems that arise in the school environment and to suggest solutions by using mediation.

The program supported by the Ministry of Health starts this week with the participation of ten pupils from the IES school and will continue throughout the school year. A local police officer meets the pupils every week and provides them with guidelines for resolving conflicts that arise in the classroom, situations of absence, school harassment, violent behaviour, etc.

The program consists of dialogue, negotiation and mediation in conflicts of pupils with problems, in order to provide them with tools that enable them to promote their personal development, to assist them in exercising their freedoms or in fulfilling their duties.

The figure of the "agent tutor" enables their integration into the educational environment and mediates in the problems of minors, prevents risk situations and risk-taking behaviour and also becomes the interlocutor between pupils, centres and families.
