The streets of the old town of Calpe will once again host the Fira de Nadal (Christmas Fair) from 6 to 10 December. This is an event in which shops and associations of the municipality participate and is complemented with shows and the recreation of Christmas atmospheres.

It will take place in the streets Libertad, Justicia, Mayor, Plaza de España, Plaza de la Villa, Plaza del Mestre Llopis, Plaza Beato Francisco Sendra and Calle Cervantes. The initiative will have around forty stalls corresponding to local companies and associations offering typical dishes, crafts, handicrafts, traditional sweets, jewellery, herbal products, Christmas items, etc.

This event is an opportunity to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere in the old town of Calpe as well as to collaborate with numerous local charitable and festive associations. In addition, at the local stalls you can buy typical Christmas sweets as well as tapas and food typical of Calpe (puchero con pelotas, paella, stewed octopus...).

The fair is characterised by its Christmas atmosphere and, in this sense, numerous fun and entertainment activities have been planned, including a Christmas "photocall", all of which will be complemented by different musical activities with parades, concerts, musical and dance performances and capoeira exhibitions.

There will also be workshops and performances for children and the programme of activities also includes an exhibition of nativity scenes in the church of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, in the Casa de Cultura, as well as the enjoyment of the Christmas decorations in the old quarter. The Fair will be open from 11am to 9pm and the inauguration will take place on Wednesday 6th at 12 noon.

The Christmas Fair is the highlight of an extensive Christmas programme that has been prepared by various departments of the Town Hall and which began last week with the switching on of the Christmas lights. This programme includes concerts by various local associations, children's theatre, exhibitions, shop window competitions, cultural entertainment parades, the Nutcracker Ballet by the Romanian National Opera Ballet, the San Silvestre race, youth activities, the Day of the Three Kings, the Three Kings Cavalcade, etc
