The mayoress of Calpe, Ana Sala, the Tourism Councillor, Mireia Ripoll, the Councillor for Foreign Residents, Marco Bittner, and technical staff from the tourism department participated today in Brussels in the “Networking Day 2025,” the annual meeting that the Soudal Quick-Step cycling team holds with its main sponsors and partners at the AG Campus in the Belgian capital.

Calpe’s institutional presence at this event is part of the advertising sponsorship contract signed with Soudal Quick-Step for promoting the municipality as a cycle tourism destination, with actions to disseminate the “Calpe” brand on official vehicles, marketing materials, website, social media, and team events, as well as the creation of a promotional video and specific content under the concept #CalpeCyclingParadise / #CalpeParaísoCiclista.

During the day, dedicated to designing joint activations in the fields of media and marketing or sustainability (ESG), the City Council presented the main lines of the promotion strategy aimed at establishing Calpe as the team's "official training destination" and as a reference for European amateur cycling tourism.

The meeting also served to strengthen ties with the Belgian market, one of the priority tourist sources for Calpe, where 2,017 Belgian nationals currently reside registered in the municipality.

The collaboration with Soudal Quick-Step, an internationally renowned team with more than 950 victories since 2003 and which has chosen Calpe as its winter training base since 2006, helps position the municipality in specialized channels and widely read sports media.

Ana Sala emphasized that "the alliance with Soudal Quick-Step puts us on the European cycling tourism map and strengthens our projection in Belgium. These types of meetings allow us to work directly with the team and with other sponsors to create joint actions that combine sport, tourism, and sustainability, generating media and economic returns for Calp.

With this participation in the 'Networking Day 2025,' the Calpe City Council takes a further step in implementing its promotion strategy linked to cycle tourism and sports sponsorship, taking advantage of the team's presence in the municipality and its international impact to project Calpe's image as a leading cycling destination.
