The Plenary Hall of the Town Hall yesterday hosted the constitution of the first Health Prevention Council in Calpe. This is a body promoted by the Department of Social Welfare, Equality, Health Protection and Family, directed by Itziar Doval, and whose aim is to promote community health in Calpe, as well as to identify and promote active resources for health promotion. In turn, through the Council also aims to promote citizen participation in these bodies, trying to give a voice to other associations that have initiatives in health issues that want to expose.

 

In the constitution of the Council participated the coordinators of the Basic Health Zone of Calpe of the Health Centre, a representative of the hospital La Marina Salud of Dénia, the councillor of Health Prevention, Itziar Doval and associations related to health such as the Association Women for Equality of Calpe, AMADEM, Association of Disabled of Calpe, Association of Fibromyalgia, Red Cross and Association of Housewives.

 

 Piero Cáceres, coordinator of the Basic Health Zone of the Calpe Health Centre was appointed as President, Toñi Artacho Tellado, President of Women for Equality of Calpe, was elected as Vice-President, and Raquel López, member of the Primary Care team of the Basic Health Zone, as Secretary, Itziar Doval, Pilar Rey from Mujeres por la Igualdad, Gloria Marín from the Fibromyalgia Association, Consuelo Moragues from AMADEM, Chely Crespo from the Red Cross, Pedro Calatayud representing the local pharmacies and Noelia Mayans, nursing coordinator of the Centro Salud, were appointed as members.

 

 Councillor Itziar Doval pointed out that "with this council we aim to put health at the centre of policies, to know the general state of health, lifestyle and health concerns of Calpe´s citizens, to identify which health problems are of most concern to citizens and which they consider to be a priority, and thus draw up lines of action in health matters".
