From Thursday to Sunday, Casa Nova is hosting the Civil Protection Water Rescue Conference, part of the training programme organised by the National Civil Protection School and the National Association of Civil Protection Groups (ANAV).
Around thirty Civil Protection volunteers from across the Valencian Community are taking part in these eminently practical sessions. The conference was opened by José Oltra, ANAV's provincial delegate for Alicante and head of Civil Protection in El Verger, and Guillermo Sendra, Calpee's councillor for Public Safety, Civil Protection and Emergencies.
The aim of the conference is to improve the preparation of volunteers to act effectively and safely in aquatic environments, especially during the summer season. To this end, participants in the conference will take part in practical sessions in the swimming pool and on Arenal beach.
The head of the Calpe Civil Protection Group, Juan Carlos Rubio, highlighted the value of these training sessions, which will result in volunteers being better prepared to deal with extreme situations.
