VIII Concurso Nacional de Carteles de Semana Santa

Calpe Town Council has published today in the Contractor's Profile on its municipal website the announcement of the tender for the concession of the regulated parking service on the public highway and the withdrawal of vehicles from the municipality; therefore, the deadline starts tomorrow for companies interested in managing the limited and paid parking area to submit their proposals. The contract also includes the provision of the municipal pound service.

According to the new specifications, the limited parking in Calpe will affect a total of 2,137 spaces and will again be divided into three zones: Blue (from Monday to Saturday non-holidays all year round), Green (from Monday to Friday non-holidays, in the morning, all year round) and Orange (from 1 July to 31 August in the beach area). A mixed orange zone will be created in the old town, which will operate from 1 May to 31 October between 6 pm and 9 pm.

The new contract will include an increase in the number of streets affected by limited parking in order to facilitate the greatest possible rotation of vehicles in areas where the city's services are concentrated as well as in other busy areas such as the beach areas during the summer. Among the changes introduced is the inclusion as a green zone of part of Masnou Avenue and Benissa, Murillo and Isaac Peral streets.

As regards fares, they will be those proposed by the tenderer in its bid, but will have to comply with the maximum limit laid down in the technical specifications of the contract, the same as that already established in the previous call for tenders. This limit will be, in the Blue and Green areas, EUR 0.90 per hour for passenger cars and EUR 0.45 per hour for traders and residents; and, in the orange zone, it will be EUR 1 per hour for passenger cars and EUR 0.50 per hour for traders and residents. In the new mixed Orange area a single tariff of 5 euros will be established.

Vehicles bearing the environmental mark of zero emission and, as has been the case up to now, disabled people will be exempt from payment.

On the other hand, for company vehicles and employees of traders in the areas affected by the blue zone, the maximum number of parking cards will be limited to four.

Moreover, as a novelty, persons who carry out their professional activity in an establishment located on streets which, although not in the blue zone, are adjacent to others in the blue zone will be considered as traders and will therefore be able to benefit from these cards. These streets are Portalet, Almendros, Azorín, Navío, Delfín, Huelva, Oscar Esplá, Goleta, Blasco Ibáñez, Benidorm and Ifach Square.
