During this week, in response to the number of visitors expected in these days, the city council is carrying out disinfection tasks in the facilities of the city cemetery. The city has also undertaken renovation work such as repairing walls, painting and gardening and improving the pavement.

Further improvements have been achieved by installing shade sails and conditioning the main entrance, where the image of the Virgen de las Nieves was placed, which was on the façade of the old crèche.

The Council also drew up a protocol for access to and use of the municipal cemetery facilities on All Saints' Day in order to comply with the health measures indicated by the Ministry of Health.

On 29, 30 and 31 October, when the citizens come to clean and cut flowers, 1-hour shifts will be set up to stay at the cemetery. As in previous years, the opening hours have been extended so that the cemetery will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on 29, 30 and 31 October and on 1 November. As regards security measures in the days preceding the holiday on which the arrangement and cleaning will take place (29, 30 and 31 October), the use of masks, disinfectant gel and gloves and the maintenance of a safe distance will be compulsory.

No maintenance or cleaning work may be carried out on All Saints' Day. The use of masks and disinfection gel is compulsory, as well as keeping a safe distance and following the arrows on the paths within the cemetery. On November, 1st the access to the cemetery will be controlled. The capacity is set at 500 people per hour in the old cemetery and 200 people per hour in the new cemetery. One-hour shifts will be set up for access to the cemetery. At the entrance to the facilities, the municipal staff will count the access and request a contact telephone number for each group or family; the temperature of visitors will also be measured.

In the old cemetery, access will be through the main gate, where access will be counted, telephones will be requested and the temperature will be measured; exit will be through the door of the lowest part of the cemetery. At the entrance to the new cemetery, two corridors will be created, one for the entrance, where the same capacity control measures will be put in place, and another for the exit. In addition, due to health restrictions, no requiem mass will be held in the cemetery this year.

The City Council recommends that citizens respect health and safety measures.
