This week, the City Council carried out the disinfection of the Silene d'Ifac kindergarten with an innovative system. It is an electrostatic spraying device that covers those areas that cannot be reached by conventional methods.

It is a technology that effectively combats surface micro-organisms, bacteria, fungi, viruses and yeasts, reducing the microbial load by up to 100% without posing a threat to students or teaching staff. The Education Department chose this method because it was found that traditional methods do not completely cover all surfaces.

In order to observe the actual results in the kindergarten, measurements are also taken before and after treatment by an external laboratory.

The aim is to provide the youngest children with the best possible protection against possible infections and contagions. The Silene Kindergarten in Ifach, built in2006, is an isolated building of 1532 m² on a single floor, arranged in three pavilions connected by a further pavilion running across. It currently accommodates 165 children aged between four months and three years.
