On the occasion of the celebration of the "Dia de les Quintes" next Saturday, October 26th, the city of Calpe launched the campaign "Don't make a mess" to prevent alcohol abuse.
This initiative aims to inform and educate young people and families alluding to the circus (jugglers, stilt walkers and clowns) about the harmful effects of alcohol consumption. There will be intermediaries who will provide information and distribute guidelines and promotional material.
In addition, as in past patron saints' festivals in honour of the Virgen de las Nieves, there will be a "Violet Dot", a place where victims of all kinds of sexual violence will be cared for, informed and supported.
The "Dia de les Quintes" is a festival celebrated by the inhabitants of Calpe with their "Quintas". The most important event on this day is the change of banner, which will be used to adopt the 2019 Commission and welcome the 2020 Commission, which will be made up of the 1982, 2002 and 2012 years.
The performance of the Colla de Xirimiters and the Charanga is planned throughout the day, as well as an orchestra and a mobile disco.
The "Dia de les Quintes" will take place at 10:00 am in the Parc de la Creativitat.
