The city council has already decided to grant aid to local companies to alleviate the effects of the COVID pandemic. After the errors had been corrected, a total of 262 applications were accepted. The total amount of aid granted amounts to 198,800 euros.

The grants range from €1,000 to €600 and are aimed at both the self-employed and small businesses operating in the municipality.

In concrete terms, aid of €1,000 will be granted to self-employed persons, micro or small enterprises with more than 10 employees and €800 to those with 10 or fewer employees who have been forced to close down because of the declaration of the state of alert. On the other hand, aid of 700 euros was granted to self-employed persons or small businesses with more than 10 employees and 600 euros for those with up to 10 employees who were not affected by the closure ordered in the state of alarm and whose turnover fell by 50 percent.

In order to qualify for the aid, the firms must have been registered without interruption in the relevant special scheme for self-employed persons or mutual societies or in the general social security and tax system for at least the period from 31 December 2019 to 14 March 2020 and have maintained their activity for at least six months from the day following publication of the decision granting the subsidy.

This aid line will be supplemented by a second call for applications, the deadline for which expired a few days ago and which will be completed in the coming weeks.
