Last Saturday, 26 December, the local police of Calp were alerted to a person lying on the ground in La Pinta street without a pulse. The officers on duty went to the scene and started resuscitation efforts on an unconscious woman.
In addition, a patrol car went to the health centre to pick up medical personnel and bring them to the scene, while the bouncer initiated the appropriate protocol.
The local police officers performed resuscitation measures for 18 minutes and only left the scene when the paramedics, SAMU and the Red Cross arrived. The woman was taken to the health centre where she was stabilised and transferred to the hospital in Dénia. The agents' quick intervention was crucial to save the woman's life.
For this reason, this morning the Mayor, Ana Sala, and the Councillor for Citizen Security, Domingo Sánchez, received the agents Óscar Cazaña Serra, Ben Wilkinson, Francisco Perles Molines and Juan Carlos Romá Martinez in the plenary hall to thank them for their intervention.
The Mayor pointed out that "you are doing a job that makes us all proud; we are very grateful for your work, especially in such a difficult year as this one, in which you have given everything. I want to highlight the human capital that the Calp Local Police has".
The Councillor for Public Safety, Domingo Sánchez, announced that "we are very proud of your work and have begun the process of applying to the regional government for the recognition you deserve".
