The City Council of Calpe and Ecovidrio, the non-profit organisation responsible for managing the recycling of glass containers in Spain, launched for the fourth consecutive year the "Recycle Glass for Women" campaign, an initiative aimed at mobilising citizens to recycle glass containers and thus contribute to solidarity and the fight against breast cancer.
Since yesterday and in the coming weeks, two pink igloos will be standing on Corbeta Square, and Ecovidrio will turn the recycled glass containers in the containers into a donation to Sandra Ibarra Solidarity against Breast Cancer Foundation.
This year, the campaign was extended to more than 60 cities across the country such as Madrid, Seville, Barcelona, Santander and Palma de Mallorca to raise awareness among more citizens. Ecovidrio has installed more than 340 pink containers throughout the country. In addition, for the fourth consecutive year, the company has won Sandra Ibarra, director of Sandra Ibarra Solidarity against Breast Cancer Foundation, as ambassador of the project.
As a symbol of awareness and solidarity in the fight against breast cancer, Ágatha Ruiz de la Rada has designed a special mini igloo for the occasion. The mini igloo can be purchased through the website MinIglu.es and the proceeds go to the Sandra Ibarra Solidarity against Breast Cancer Foundation.
