The 30th edition of EXFICALP, the philatelic exhibition organised by the Calpe Philatelic Association, was officially inaugurated on 5 December in the Exhibition Hall of the Old City Hall, as part of the Calpe Town Council's Fira de Nadal programme.
In this new edition, EXFICALP offers the public eight philatelic collections on a variety of themes that allow visitors to discover the history, curiosities and possibilities of stamp collecting. As a complement, the exhibition also includes an outstanding selection of old photographs of Calpe belonging to local collector Joaquín Vázquez Boronad, which provide a historical view of the municipality.
Since its opening, the exhibition has been attracting many visitors, establishing itself as a key event in the Valencian philatelic world. EXFICALPE 2025 will remain open until 30 December at the Ajuntament Vell, with free admission until full capacity is reached.
The programme also includes two noteworthy activities. On Wednesday 17 December, at 8 pm, the Seu Universitària Casa Nova will host the conference ‘Los V-Mail. Photography in the service of the Post Office during World War II’, by José Ivars Ivars, member of the Royal Hispanic Academy of Philately and Postal History.
To close the event, on Sunday 21 December, the Calpe Tennis Club will host the International Philatelic Exchange, an event open to all, which will begin at 10 am and will include a stamp auction and a Christmas lunch for members and supporters.
With initiatives such as EXFICALP, Calpe Town Council and the Calpe Philatelic Association are reinforcing their commitment to promoting philately and highlighting the historical and cultural heritage of the municipality.
