The company awarded the lifeguard service contract in Calp, Eulen, carried out a rescue drill on Cantal Roig beach on Friday 29 August. The drill involved rescuing and pulling a child from the sea who was having great difficulty returning to shore. The victim also simulated suffering a cardiac arrest after swallowing a lot of water.

A boat and a jet ski were used in the sea rescue, and once on land, the victim was given basic CPR with oxygen therapy and a defibrillator before finally being taken by ambulance to hospital. In total, the drill lasted 12 minutes and 30 seconds.

The aim of this type of drill is to monitor rescue times and coordination between the various lifeguards to ensure optimal service. Furthermore, these types of drills, which are carried out annually, are a requirement for the Blue Flag certification.
