The Calp local police have filed a total of 130 complaints since the publication of Ministerial Decree SND/422/2020 of 19 May, which makes the wearing of masks compulsory. Specifically, these complaints have been made on the promenades and in various areas of the city centre, which are very busy during the summer season and where it is not possible to keep a safe distance.

According to the local police, the complaints are filed in cases where the citizen, having been warned to wear a mask, still does not wear it. Thanks to these warnings, the number of complaints is no greater.

The Calp Town Council calls for responsibility and insists on the need to wear a mask, as it is very difficult to keep a safe distance, especially at this time of year when the population of Calp is multiplying. Fines for not wearing a mask can be up to 100 euros.

Removal of parasols and sun beds

On the other hand, the local police have so far filed 30 complaints because they discovered umbrellas, sunbeds and other objects on the beaches without the presence of their owners before 9.30 am. In addition to the report, the police have removed all these items.

The Municipal Regulation on the Use of the Coast prohibits the occupation of public spaces without distinction of time or place and, in particular, the occupation of the beaches with objects without the presence of the users between 00.00 and 9.30 a.m.

It is allowed to take these objects to the beach before 9.30 am, as long as their owners are present and they do not hinder the cleaning operations.
