The festival of the "Moros y Cristianos" of Calp is again represented on a ticket of the ONCE (Lottery for the Blind). In this case it is the image of the "Miracle" (miracle), one of the main acts of the festive trilogy based on the historical events of 22 October 1744, which celebrated its 275th anniversary last year.
The "Miracle", declared a Festival of Autonomous Tourist Interests, is held every year during the "Moros y Cristianos" festivities. The "miracle" is based on one of the many attacks that the population of Calp suffered from the invaders of the Crescent, a figure from the history of the town of Calp known as "Caragol". "Caragol" closed the town gates, according to legend, with the help of the Santísimo Cristo del Sudor, despite the betrayal of the figure of "Moncófar".
At the beginning of the year the city asked the ONCE (Organisation for the Blind) to issue a lottery ticket with this image. However, since it was impossible to celebrate the festivities in October, the publication of the lot was postponed until October of the following year, which coincides with the day of the patron saint.
This is not the first time that celebrations of the "Moros y Cristianos" of Calp have appeared on a ticket of the ONCE (Organisation for the Blind). In 2017, to coincide with the 40th anniversary of these celebrations, a lottery ticket with the image of the "Desembarco" (landing) was published.
