Calpe Town Hall invites residents and visitors to travel back in time with the celebration of the Medieval Market, which will take place from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 April in the Old Town of the town.
For three days, the streets of the historic centre will be transformed into a colourful stage with craft stalls, medieval atmosphere, live music, parades, storytelling and fire shows. All of this will be set in an atmosphere evoking the Middle Ages, with period costumes, an exhibition of traditional tools and the presence of a majestic medieval dragon.
The little ones will also have their space with a children's corner, which will have educational games, ingenuity tables, and workshops for painting chests and masks, available at different times throughout the weekend.
The programme kicks off on Friday at 18:00 with the official opening of the market and will continue with storytelling, musical performances and a fire show entitled ‘Ánimas de la noche’ (Souls of the night). The activities will continue throughout Saturday and Sunday with a varied repertoire of cultural and leisure activities, including the participation of the group Vendaval Folk, who will perform traditional music accompanied by dancers.
The market will close its doors on Sunday 27th at 22:00, putting an end to a weekend full of magic, tradition and entertainment for all ages.
