The Calp Town Council's call for grants for clubs, dance halls, karaoke and pubs to fight the COVID-19 virus was published in the Province's Official Gazette today. Anyone interested can apply for these grants between 23 November and 14 December.

This is a new line of assistance within the Plan Resiste, with the aim of revitalising business in Calp and alleviating the economic losses suffered by the industry. In this case, they are aimed at the night-time leisure facilities which were forced to close down by a decree of the Conselleria de Sanidad last 17 August as a preventive measure in the fight against the coronavirus in the heat of the summer season.

Therefore, all persons who, at the time the closure was ordered, owned discos, dance halls, karaoke or nightclubs with or without live music performances in Calp can apply for this grant.

The amount of the grant varies between €1,000 and €2,000, depending on the people employed in the suspended activity. This amount is €1,000 if there are no employees, €1,500 if there are one to three employees, €1,800 if there are four to eight employees and €2,000 if there are more than eight employees.

The aid will be applied for in the Calp electronic register using a form which will be available on the Internet and will require a digital certificate and a PIN code.
