Since the beginning of November, the Casa de Cultura of Calpe has hosted the performance of the three finalist plays from among the 64 companies that entered the competition. The competition closed yesterday with the awards ceremony and the performance of the well-known monologuist Alex O'Dogherty with his show "Imbécil", one of the most complete comedy shows on the current bill.

The contest was created in 2012 with the aim of paying tribute to theatre, an artistic discipline that has been a tradition in Calpe for more than a hundred years, and to the deceased local actor Antonio Ferrer.
