The work in Esplai Park is entering its final phase; it is a space for sports and leisure activities with a surface area of 5,400 m2, which includes the old installations of Miguel Ángel Benitez. The project has cost 181,000 euros.

The new sports infrastructure includes a skating rink, a parkour area and a skatepark for skateboarders. The facilities also include a green area for the practice of yoga, Zumba and sports with equipment.

In addition, biologically healthy exercise equipment has been set up and the scale of the facilities has been used to create an area for walking or running. All this is completed by the installation of new street furniture and gardening.

In addition, all the lighting has been renewed with LED lights, which allow a significant reduction in energy consumption, which has been reduced from 48,000 W to 1200 W. In fact, special lighting is maintained at night to avoid light pollution. Video surveillance cameras have also been installed to ensure the security of the area.

On the other hand, the maintenance workers of the sports area prepared the basketball and indoor football pitches, which are located next to Esplai Parc and with which the sports facilities of the area cover more than 10,000m2.

These sports facilities have a car park and can be accessed both from Avenida País Valencià and from bottle J. The facilities are expected to be open to the public in the first half of August and will be open daily from 9am to 10pm.

It is estimated that, under normal conditions, around 1,500 people use the municipal sports facilities each week.
