This week is the highlight of the activities prepared by the Equality Department of Calp Town Council in collaboration with the Women's Association for Equality and IES Ifac to mark the International Day against Gender Violence.

This marks the end today of webinars offered to local businesses that have participated in the campaign against gender-based violence launched by the Equality Council. Today also marks the end of the poetry competition against gender-based violence aimed at IES pupils, and the "Women's Market" workshop for IES Ifac pupils will continue until 17 December.

Also this afternoon, the Association of Women for Equality of Calpe is organising an online reading of poems by women writers, including readings of the works of Gloria Fuertes, Wislawa Szymborka or Alfonsina Storni.

Next Wednesday 25 November, the International Day against Gender Violence, the institutional event will take place at 12 noon in the Saló Blau, where a manifesto and the book of poetry by IES students will be read. Also on 25th, the Association of Women for Equality will show the film "The Dark Chamber" with an online debate with the director Victoria Menis.

Throughout the week, the visual campaign "Don't be fooled, break the silence, it's your life, it's your rights" will be broadcast to raise awareness and highlight the different forms of violence against women. And on 27 November, an online seminar to raise awareness of gender-based violence will take place, organised by the Equality Department.
