The Regional Ministry of Culture of Calp requested documentation to process the declaration of the buildings La Muralla Roja, Xanadú and the Club Social in la Manzanera as cultural monuments. In this way, the procedure for the protection of this iconic architectural complex, designed by the architect Ricardo Bofill, will be promoted. Calp has already expressed its willingness to initiate this process through two plenary agreements in 2014 and 2017.
The Mayor of Calp, Ana Sala, presented a motion "in voce" yesterday in plenary session, asking for the support of all political groups to ask for the inclusion in the general budget of the project for the pedestrian bridge over the N332, having noted yesterday that this work does not appear in the draft of these budgets.
Calp, through a local police officer and in collaboration with the IES Ifac, has set up the "Tutor-Agent" program to help students in case of absence or behavioural problems. The aim is to help pupils to solve problems that arise in the school environment and to suggest solutions by using mediation.
The festival of the "Moros y Cristianos" of Calp is again represented on a ticket of the ONCE (Lottery for the Blind). In this case it is the image of the "Miracle" (miracle), one of the main acts of the festive trilogy based on the historical events of 22 October 1744, which celebrated its 275th anniversary last year.
In view of the discovery of several cases of Covid-19 in schools in Calp, the Calp Municipal Education Council has, among other measures, initiated the thorough disinfection of the Gabriel Miró school. This school currently has a total of 7 classes in lockdown, which over the past weekend has led to the integrated disinfection of the internal and external surfaces using an innovative electrostatic spraying method, including critical points or areas that are not easily accessible using traditional methods. It is planned to apply this system to other schools in the community.
The town of Calp has begun maintenance and renovation work on the Casa del Cocó under the EMCORP program, which aims to recruit unemployed people aged 30 or over to carry out works or services of general interest in cooperation with the local authorities of the Valencia region.
In this case, 6 workers were recruited: 2 bricklayers, 2 painters and 2 workers with a grant from Labora of €62 600.
Calp City Council reduced the average payment period to its suppliers to 3.67 days in the third quarter of 2020. Thus, the good figures of the previous quarters could be maintained.
The Council takes an average of 3.67 days to pay its suppliers, thus not only complying with the rules on late payment, which require public administrations to pay within 30 days, but also reducing this period considerably. Indeed, this period reached 44.85 days in the third quarter of 2015 and 1,000 days in 2011.
During this week, in response to the number of visitors expected in these days, the city council is carrying out disinfection tasks in the facilities of the city cemetery. The city has also undertaken renovation work such as repairing walls, painting and gardening and improving the pavement.
Further improvements have been achieved by installing shade sails and conditioning the main entrance, where the image of the Virgen de las Nieves was placed, which was on the façade of the old crèche.
