The Mayor of Calp, Ana Sala, released the turtle recovered by the Hospital del Mar of the Oceanogràfic Foundation on La Fossa beach this morning. This was the first act in this town as part of the campaign "La mar de tots", with which Oceanogràfic wants to address communities that are committed to the sea. With only one exception: the rehabilitation of the Club Social and the execution of the pedestrian bridge and coastal renovation in Cala Manzanera de Calp, whose tender deadline ended recently.
Calp City Council, through the Education Council, has installed CO2 meters and air purifiers in the four local schools and Silene d'Ifac kindergarten during the Christmas holidays. These measures are intended to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the classrooms.
The CO2 meters make it possible to sound an alarm if a room is not properly ventilated, putting teachers or pupils at risk. They are therefore particularly useful during this period of low temperatures, when the cold forces the windows to be closed.
Calp City Council has allocated a total of 632,636.83 euros in aid to different areas of the city to mitigate the economic impact caused by the pandemic. The aid was provided as part of the Plan Resiste, which considers several lines of subsidies.
