Since March 2020 and until December of the same year, Calp Municipality has granted €282,736 in direct emergency social assistance, which benefited 1,101 Calp families, and in the entire month of January, a total of €16,600 in emergency social assistance was granted.
The City Council and ONCE (organization for the blind) cooperate in the campaign against loneliness.
Calp and ONCE have agreed to cooperate in the "Campaign against Loneliness", a voluntary action to support and accompany visually impaired people in times of pandemic. The campaign stretches from La Vila to Dénia; in this area ONCE has 370 members with total blindness or with 0.01% severe blindness, a sector of the population that is particularly vulnerable in these times.
The Calp is currently registering a total of 67 active cases of gender-based violence. This number was announced in the Coordination Commission of Gender Violence, which met per Skype this morning.
The meeting was attended by the mayor of Calp, Ana Sala, and representatives of the Unit against Violence against Women of the government sub-delegation, the Dénia Gender Violence Office, the Guardia Civil, the local police, the Dénia Women's Centre, the Office of Attention to Victims and the Equality Department of the Calp City Council.
Yesterday's plenary session of Calp City Council debated the motion of the socialist councillor group calling for an investigation into the administration of vaccinations in Calp. Although the proposal was unsuccessful, the mayor bluntly pointed out that no member of the government had been vaccinated, except councillor Ana Perles, who works at the Calp Health Centre and is one of the health workers subjected to this first vaccination.
Calp City Council and the contracted company Pavapark reached an agreement this morning to partially remove the regulated parking service on public roads in the blue zone from 5pm to 8pm. Thus, as of this afternoon, the blue zone service will only be effective from 9am to 2pm.
For the past few weeks, the city and the company have been studying various formulas to exempt citizens from paying the ORA after the new restrictions against COVID-19 came into effect on Thursday, 21 January, stipulating the closure of shops from 6pm followed by the closure of the public house.
The mayor of Calp, Ana Sala, has sent a letter to the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, making all municipal human and material resources available to the regional government as part of the vaccination campaign against Covid19.
The letter states that the municipality will provide sports pavilions, sports facilities, cultural spaces and public car parks so that the citizens of Calpe can go to be vaccinated with the guarantee that the necessary security spaces will be maintained, or even that they can be vaccinated without having to leave their vehicles.
The local police of Calp issued a total of 27 reports for non-compliance with the COVID-19 prevention measures from 1 January to 2 February.
Specifically, 13 charges were filed for non-compliance or improper use of the mask, 9 charges for violation of the restriction of movement at night, 1 charge for violation of the extraordinary closing hours of the catering and hospitality industry and 4 charges for violation of hygiene and prevention measures involving less than 15 people. In the latter case, it was the celebration of a birthday in the Hermitage area.
Aguas de Calpe is carrying out rehabilitation works on the sewage pumping station in Avenida del Port. The cost of the works is 80,754.55 € and the duration of the works will be two months.
This action completes the sewerage network of the access area to the fishing port after the collapse of a section of the collector recorded last March.
The rehabilitation works consist of adapting the connections of the four inlet collectors to the pumping station by building a new pumping chamber. This will require the demolition of the current cottage.
