THE 1ST INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURE SYMPOSIUM KICKS OFF TOMORROW AS PART OF THE BOFILL YEAR PROGRAMME
Tomorrow, Thursday 16th and Friday 17th November, Calpe will host the 1st International Architecture Symposium, an event organised by Calpe Town Council in collaboration with the Alicante College of Architecture as part of the Bofill Year programme of activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the emblematic La Muralla Roja building.
The plenary session of Calpe Town Council has unanimously approved the project for the construction of the Gargasindi Special Education School, one of the most demanded and awaited initiatives in the municipality in terms of education.
This week sees the start of work to improve road safety at various points in the municipality with the installation of smart zebra crossings.
The company awarded the concession for the Puerto Blanco marina, Marina PortBlanc, hopes to be able to finish the dredging work at the end of the month. These are highly complex works as they are being carried out in the dry to minimise the inconvenience.
The Galician painter Lola Extremadouro has begun to make a dream come true: to paint the benches of Calpe's promenade with Mediterranean motifs. A dream in the literal sense. Last Saturday she dreamt that she was carrying out such an undertaking and almost immediately asked the Town Hall for permission to carry it out.
Friday, 10th:
Calpe Town Hall will commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women - 25 N - with a programme of activities under the slogan #ViolenciaInvisible. The aim is to address those aspects of this social scourge that are hidden or barely talked about.
