Starting next academic year, Calpe will offer two courses from the UNED Senior programme for the first time, aimed at people aged 55 and over.
Calpe Town Council and UNED Dénia have agreed to launch this initiative, which aims to offer this group the opportunity to continue learning and enriching their knowledge in different fields.
In view of the existence of expenditure that cannot be postponed until the following financial year, for which there is no provision in the current budget and given that sufficient funding is available, a credit modification for extraordinary credit amounting to €1,335,911.03 was brought before the plenary session today and approved with the votes of the government and the abstention of the opposition.
Calpe will celebrate its patron saint festivities in honour of its patron saint, the Virgen de las Nieves, starting this Thursday, 31 July. One of the most traditional and heartfelt celebrations in the town begins, organised by the 2025 festivities committee and Calpe Town Council.
From 2 August, the municipal swimming pool will be temporarily closed to carry out various maintenance and improvement works on the facilities. The swimming pool will reopen on 1 September with classes and free swimming, although on 28 and 29 August the facility will be open exclusively for registration for the new season's courses.
Calpe will celebrate a new edition of the Calpe Pop Festival on August 15 and 16, which this time will feature stellar performances by Nacha Pop and El Drogas, who marked an entire era of Spanish pop and rock with their songs, as well as the trendy Catalan duo that has revolutionized urban music, Figa Flawas.

On Monday, Calpe hosted the first ‘Calpe Drumt’ with great success, an innovative musical event that brought the spirit of Belgium's famous ‘Kortrijk Drumt’ to the Costa Blanca.
