Aguas de Calpe donates one euro to Caritas for each subscriber who opts for electronic billing
Aguas de Calpe, Cáritas Calpe and the town council have signed an agreement stipulating that for every subscriber who opts for electronic billing, the entity that manages the water service in the municipality will give one euro to Cáritas Calpe.
Maintenance work is due to start tomorrow on the pavements and tree grates on Carrer La Pau, La Pinta, La Santa Maria, Joan de Garay, Pintor Sorolla and Blasco Ibañez. These are pavements that currently have irregularities in the paving due to the passage of time. The works are intended to correct the defects and improve safety for pedestrian traffic.
The Museo del Coleccionismo in the Torreó de la Peça de Calp will open its doors again next Friday, after the renovation work carried out in recent months.
The project included the renovation of the building with waterproofing work, changing the pavement, electrical installations and general finishing work, but also the installation of a screen that projects an audiovisual image in different languages about the old town of Calp.
Fallen trees and fences are the main consequences of the strong gusts of wind of up to 90 km per hour that Calp has suffered in recent days. In addition, the wind has destroyed the emergency tent of the health centre where the PCR tests are carried out.
The Board of Directors of the Penyal d'Ifac Nature Park, which met this week, informed about the imminent implementation of the pre-registration to visit the park with a maximum capacity of 300 people per day. This measure responds to questions of a conservative and protectionist nature of the ecosystem and is not motivated by the restrictions imposed by COVID.
Calp Town Council has decided on the call for applications for aid to promote sport in the 2019-2020 season, which will allocate a total of 147,972.43 euros to the various sporting bodies in the municipality.
The Alicante Cancer Association, together with the Calpe-Benissa Animal Protection Society (SPA), has published a calendar with pictures of "superheroes" and "superheroines" from Calp, people who are an example to others. These are people who have overcome an illness or who, after an accident, have accepted a new situation with courage and determination or who have managed to overcome it despite the difficulties and barriers that life has put in their way.
The city council has already decided to grant aid to local companies to alleviate the effects of the COVID pandemic. After the errors had been corrected, a total of 262 applications were accepted. The total amount of aid granted amounts to 198,800 euros.
The grants range from €1,000 to €600 and are aimed at both the self-employed and small businesses operating in the municipality.
