The city council yesterday unanimously approved the government team's proposal to formalise a legal agreement on a provisional basis to resolve the precarious situation of health transport in Calp, although this is not the responsibility of the city council. This week, the Síndic de Greuges (Regional Government Ombudsman) himself requested a report from the regional Ministry of Health on the insecurity of the service.
The Mayor of Calp, Ana Sala, accompanied by the City Council for Fisheries and Ports, Paco Avargues, met with the Director General for Ports, Airports and Coasts, Emilio Olbiol, this morning in Valencia to learn about the condition of the Puerto Blanco marina, among other things.
Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) will be offering a bus service between Olla de Altea and Calp stations between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on 8 and 9 February, as the planned work on the Mascarat bridge means that this section of Line 9 (Benidorm-Dénia) of the TRAM d'Alacant will have to be closed to rail traffic.

Currently, work is concentrating on shifting the sand that the sea deposits on the shore by heavy machinery into the inner areas of the beach. The aim is to accelerate the natural process of the wind, which drives the sand inland for months.
This work, which is being carried out on La Fossa and Arenal-Bol beaches, will continue over the next few days until the level of stabilised sand is reached.
Calp City Council has reduced the average payment period to its suppliers to 3.03 days in the last quarter of 2019. This is the best figure since the beginning of the historical series, in the third quarter of 2014, as can be seen from a report by the Departamento de Intervención (Treasury Department).
On Saturday, February 8, the 4th stage of the 71st edition of the Volta Ciclista a la Comunitat Valenciana, which starts tomorrow in Castellón, will begin in Calp.
Calp will reform its beach promenades after the effects of storm Gloria with minor interventions in order to be ready for Easter, and will address the rebuilding project in response to a study on the consequences of climate change on the beaches, which is being conducted by the Institute for Coastal Ecology.
This was decided at a meeting attended by technicians and political leaders from the city to decide on immediate measures to be taken in relation to the damage caused by the storm.
