Calp will host the provincial competition of musical groups of the 2nd section on 22 March, organised by the Provincial Council in collaboration with Calp City Council and the Calp-Ifach Music Association. This is the provincial competition for groups of 51 to 70 musicians.

Two months ago, Calpe City Council launched a new channel of communication with the citizens by telegram. The response was better than expected, and the city now has 840 subscribers, a good number considering that this instant messaging service is less used than others, such as WhatsApp.

Although the Calpe channel has only been in operation for a short time, it is the third city in Spain with the highest number of subscribers, after Vall d'Uixò with 1,700 subscribers and Sueca with just over 1,500.

The local government will once again submit a request to the Regional Ministry of Health for a solution to the precariousness of the health transport service in the municipality. This document includes specific cases in which the ambulance, which must travel from Denia or Jávea, has arrived more than an hour and a half late.

Calpe City Council will distribute 4,000 reusable bottles starting next Thursday, January 30th, so that citizens can remove the urine of their pets. The measure was adopted following the amendment to the regulation on citizens living together in public places, approved in the ordinary plenary session of January, which makes it compulsory to clean the urine of pets with water.

The Calpe Town Council has already made an initial estimate of the damage caused by the rain and storm Gloria: 1,340,000 euros on Fossa beach alone, the most affected area of the municipality. This is a large amount of damage which, at its meeting this morning, led the Calpe Town Council to urge the Generalitat Government and the Spanish Government to include the municipality among the areas declared a disaster area and to provide the necessary funds to alleviate the damage suffered.

This week FITUR presented the new tourism campaign for Calpe. In this campaign the inhabitants are the main actors of the advertising videos.This campaign consists of 4 videos of 30 seconds each and another longer video, which is used to promote the four axes of the municipality's strategy and aims to make Calpe a tourist destination 365 days a year.
