For the third consecutive year, the Calpe Fishing Guild, through the Comissió Festes Mare de Deu del Carme and in collaboration with the City Council, is seeking to give new impetus to the traditional festivals of the Virgen del Carmen, the patron saint of the sea, and has prepared a wide-ranging programme of events to be held between today and Tuesday 16 July.
On the website of City Council you can find all information about the weather in Calpe. As soon as you visit the website, you will see a summary table with the most important meteorological information of the day, such as maximum and minimum temperature, relative humidity, wind.... and the prediction of ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
You will find four sections at the top of the homepage:
- Forecast: You can see the weather forecast for today, tomorrow and the next days.
The sculpture "Cosmos 62" by Andreu Alfaro returned to Calpe a little more than a month ago to be set up again at the "Norte" exit. This act concludes the long negotiation between the city council and the IVAM. The museum leaves the sculpture to the city of Calpe and the Alfaro family leaves two sculptures to the IVAM to replace "Cosmos 62".
La Manzanera is one of the most unique enclaves in Calpe. It is a residential area designed in the 1960s by Ricardo Bofill's architectural office and is unique from a landscape, architectural and environmental point of view.
The plenary session of the City Council, the first of the new legislative period, today approved the formation of the political groups, the remuneration of the members of the City Council and the number and remuneration of the advisers.
Last Saturday, Lucía Pérez Arévalo and Ariadna Serra García were elected queens of the Calpe Festival 2019 during a gala attended by some 2,000 people. The election took place by means of a drawing; the queens of the previous year, Lucía Tensa and Sandra Simarro, drew the names of the 18-year-old and 8-year-old candidates respectively.
The Calpe Department of Tourism has published a new postcard dedicated to Calpe with the aim of promoting the tourist attractions of the municipality. The new card bears the logo "Enjoy Calpe" and has 19 images with the different tourist resources of the town: gastronomy, beaches, heritage, festivals, outdoor sports, nature, hiking, trade ...
These are prepaid cards with a B rate, which allows its shipment to European countries. A total of 1,000 cards have been published and printed by the Post Office and will be distributed at tourism fairs and tourist information offices.
