Yesterday the DOGV that the Generalitat Valenciana (Regional Government) grants the title of Festivity of Provincial Tourist Interest the Mare de Déu de les Neus and its Castell a la Mar festivals.
The Calpe City Council today opened the deadline to apply for grants for IBI (Property Tax). The subsidies are open to pensioners (also under 65 years of age) and long-term unemployed with low incomes.
These people can receive a subsidy of up to 400 Euros and up to 75% of the property tax. If the applicant is disabled or one of his/her family members proves a disability of 33% or higher, or is either a victim of gender-based violence or part of a single-parent family, this allowance is increased by 10%.
The opening of a new bridge over the Pou Roig gorge will change the municipality's road network once and for all, as it will relieve road traffic on Avenida Ejércitos Españoles and connect the sports area with Avenida Rumanía.
The works for the passage and the construction over the Pou Roig gorge and on the Avenida País Valencià cost a total of € 394.703, of which € 344.993 were contributed by the Diputación Provincial and € 39,710.23 by the Calpe City Council.
The Communications Department of the City of Calpe organised the first conference of journalists in public administrations. The conference will take place on Saturday 8 June from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Calpe.
This is the first time that a conference has been organised in Spain bringing together journalists from different public administrations and aims to reflect on the problems and challenges affecting the work of these professionals.
The Calpe City Council has called for the VIII Balconies and Old Stores Embellishment Contest. From this edition, the competition is called Kini Pastor as a tribute to this citizen of our city, who recently died and who was very closely engaged with this contest. In fact, he won all editions of the competition.
The aim of this initiative is to promote the care and embellishment of the houses among the residents and merchants of the historic centre in order to make them more attractive and to invite people to visit the old town.
Fira Calp, the gastronomy and trade fair of the city, opens its doors on Thursday on the Plaza Mayor. It is organised by the City Council, Creama-Calpe, the Sabor a Calpe Hotel and Catering Association and the AEMCO Shopkeepers' Association, with the participation of the Fishing Guild and the 2019 Festival Commission.
The fair, which celebrates its eleventh edition, will host this year 20 booths with restaurants, cafés and cocktails and will also strengthen its commercial side with the participation of 10 shops exhibiting their products.
The positive aspect of the intense rains of the last few days is the replenishment of the groundwater, which supplies the community with water. Aguas de Calpe, the company responsible for water management, has pointed out that the Lucifer well in the Vall de Laguar valley, Calpe's main groundwater well, has reached the highest level of its reserves. In the Vall de Laguar valley, almost 400 litres per square metre were measured during these four rainy days.
Ending sexist stereotypes and preventing gender violence is the aim of the campaign in which all public schools in Calpe will participate throughout April and May.
The activities carried out vary according to the age of the children or adolescents. Thus, kids (3-6 years old) will participate on 15 and 16 April in a dramatised story for the promotion of equality and the prevention of gender violence.
