This week, Calpe Town Council has begun removing street furniture and other items from Las Salinas in compliance with the High Court ruling on the appeal lodged by the company Deborja S.A.
Calpe Town Council is completing the award of the contract for lifeguard services, first aid transport and supervised bathing assistance on beaches and the coast. The contract proposal has been formalised, and the service is expected to start shortly.

The Administrative Court of Alicante has ruled in favour of Calp Town Council after declaring the expiry of the licence it granted in December 2017 to the company Sol de Calpe for the construction of a 35-storey twin-tower hotel on a plot of land located on Avenida Juan Carlos I, near the salt flats. It therefore dismisses the appeal lodged by the company and considers the Calp Town Council's decision to be ‘in accordance with the law’.
The municipality of Calpe has today taken a firm step forward in its commitment to sustainability and climate resilience by officially receiving the certificate for the verification of its Climate Change Adaptation Plan in accordance with the international standard UNE-ISO 14092:2021. This standard establishes the requirements for local authorities to effectively plan their response to the effects of climate change.
