This morning, Marina Salud Hospital informed the Mayor of Calp that the municipality, together with Dénia, Pego and Benigembla, will participate in a national statistical study commissioned by the Ministry of Health from the Carlos III Institute of Microbiology. The aim is to find out the impact of the virus in each municipality and its evolution.
The municipalities were selected at random, as were the people who will take part in the study. In the Marina Alta, 89 families are expected to participate in this study, 21 of which will be families from Calp.
Starting tomorrow, the Calp Town Council will send 1672 letters to children in Calp aged between 3 and 10 years with a diploma certifying their courage, cooperation and good behaviour during the quarantine. With this diploma, which will be signed by the Mayor Ana Sala and the City Councillor for Education, Rebeca Merchán, the city wants to acknowledge the patience, efforts and contribution of the minors in the fight against the virus.

This week, Calp City Council begins distributing protective masks for the entire population. All citizens registered in the town, with the exception of those who have already received a protective mask from the Generalitat (regional government) (citizens over 65 and chronically ill people who can pick up their protective masks free of charge at their pharmacy) can receive these masks. Likewise, all citizens registered in the COVID19 Emergency Service of the Social Services, who will receive the protection kit.
